14 journalists from NE go on media tour to Maha Kumbh

SHILLONG, Jan 21: A delegation of 14 journalists from the Northeast has begun a three-day media tour to Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The tour, which takes place from January 21 to 23, aims to provide a platform for journalists to capture and share the cultural and spiritual essence of the Maha Kumbh Mela with audiences across the region and beyond.
Representing various states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, the journalists will have a unique opportunity to report on one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world. The delegation includes representatives from different media outlets including U Peitngor from Meghalaya and the Arunachal Front, Asomiya Pratidin, Dainik Asom, DY365, Time8, Sangai Express, The People’s Chronicle, The Morung Express, HornbillTV, Summit Times, Swatantra Aawaj, Headlines Tripura and Satyabhashan.
The Maha Kumbh, scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, is expected to host over 45 crore devotees, including approximately 15 lakh international visitors. This year’s event promises to be a grand showcase of India’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant traditions, and economic prosperity.
