BSF apprehends five smugglers along border

SHILLONG, Jan 21: The BSF Meghalaya apprehended five Bangladeshi smugglers and successfully thwarted various smuggling attempts along the international border.
On Monday, troops of BSF Meghalaya Frontier successfully apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals and thwarted multiple attempts to smuggle various contraband items to Bangladesh through the international border.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the 200th Battalion BSF troops launched an operation in South Garo Hills and apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals, who have been identified as Md. Sakibul Basir (20), Adnan Mahamod Rohim (22), Sojib Ahamed (17), Md. Sakib Hussain (19), and Md. Saju (27), all residents of Mymensingh district, Bangladesh.
In addition, during several other operations in East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills, a substantial haul of illegal goods was intercepted, including cattle, sugar, blankets, liquor, and other contraband items. The total value of the seized items was estimated at Rs 13.54 lakh.
