MUMBAI, Jan 21: Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, who was arrested by Mumbai Police for stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra West apartment on January 16, had allegedly crossed the Umngot river in Dawki to illegally enter India.
Following Shehzad’s interrogation, police informed that the Bangladeshi national had entered India through Meghalaya seven months ago and used a West Bengal resident’s Aadhaar card registered in the name of Vijay Das to procure a SIM. He stayed in West Bengal for some time before moving to Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police will soon visit West Bengal and Meghalaya for further investigation in the high-profile case. (Agencies)
