Union minister reviews central schemes in South Garo Hills

TURA, Jan 22: Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje reviewed the implementation of central schemes in South Garo Hills District on Wednesday. The review meeting, held at the New Circuit House Conference Hall in Baghmara, brought together various line departments to discuss schemes related to industries, commerce, labor, education, tourism, and more.
During the meeting, interactive discussions focused on the challenges and issues faced during the implementation of these schemes. Karandlaje enquired about the initiatives taken by government departments and offered suggestions for improvement in various sectors.
The Union minister stressed on the need for greater public awareness about centrally sponsored programs and schemes, highlighting the importance of registration under Aadhar, Eshram, and NCS.
She also stressed the collective responsibility in bringing development to the district and achieving the vision of Vikshit Bharat by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Later, Karandlaje visited Anganwadi Centers, interacting with beneficiaries from ICDS, PMEGP Scheme, Labour, and MSRLS. She also held one-on-one interactions with the people, seeking their feedback on centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
