BSF nabs six Bangla nationals in Jaintia Hills By Our Reporter

SHILLONG, Jan 23: The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended six Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to cross the Indo-Bangladesh border from East Jaintia Hills.
BSF personnel from the 172nd Battalion noticed suspicious movements and launched a search operation. During the operation, six individuals, including two women and four children, were apprehended.
Preliminary questioning revealed that the detainees had entered India illegally several months ago and were employed as domestic workers in Bengaluru. They were attempting to return to Bangladesh through unauthorised routes.
The adults have been identified as Shilpi, wife of Miraj Sikder and Rumana, wife of Mohammed Edrish, both hailing from Bagerhat district of Bangladesh.
They were handed over to Umkiang police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
