EKH dominates Tennis

SHILLONG, Jan 24: The 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 Lawn Tennis event, held from January 20th to 22nd at the picturesque North East Adventist University campus in Jowai, Jaintia Hills, concluded with intense matches and incredible performances
The results of the competition were as follows:

Men’s Singles:

Gold Medal Match:Sanjeev Chettri (East Khasi Hills) emerged victorious over Ishan Rawat (East Khasi Hills) in a gripping three-set match. After losing the first set in a tie-break, Chettri fought back to win 7-6(6), 6-7(5), 6-2, clinching the Gold Medal. The Silver Medal going to Ishan Rawat.
Bronze Medal Match:In an exciting battle, Rakshit Bajaj (East Khasi Hills) defeated Amit Ram (East Khasi Hills) 1-6, 7-6(2), 6-3, coming from behind to secure the Bronze Medal in a thrilling comeback.

Men’s Doubles:

Gold Medal Match:The dynamic duo of Sanjeev Chettri and Wankhraw Wahlang Nongrum (East Khasi Hills) claimed the Gold Medal in a hard-fought doubles final.
After losing the first set, they bounced back to defeat Amit Ram and Ishan Rawat (East Khasi Hills) 4-6, 6-1 [10-7] in a dramatic super tie-break.
Ishan Rawat and Amit Ram claimed the Silver Medal with their hard fought effort.
Bronze Medal Match: Rakshit Bajaj and Sookh Dorjee (East Khasi Hills) displayed dominance on the court, beating Job Rothangliana Kawlni and Damepyndap Ksoo (West Jaintia Hills) 6-3, 6-0 to take home the Bronze Medal.
