M’laya sends contingent of 55 for 38th National Games

Shillong, Jan 27: The Meghalaya State Olympics Association (MSOA) has sent a contingent comprising of 53 athletes and coaches, accompanied by two officials to represent the State in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.
The state athletes will take in nine disciplines including rowing, judo, shooting, athletics, Wushu, Aquatics, Canoeing & Kayaking and boxing
MSOA general secretary Finely Pariat informed that there are 9 sports associations who have qualified for the games.
He further informed that the MSOA could not hold the sent off ceremony for the state contingent this time round due to the Meghalaya Games in Jowai.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Swimming Association gave a send-off to its 4 athletes, manager and coach participating in the 38th National Games at Haldwani, Uttarakhand at Crinoline Swimming Pool, on Monday
The Meghalaya contingent left for Uttarakhand on Monday.
