SHILLONG, Feb 1: The state government plans to construct 150 working women’s hostels across the state with funding from the Centre.
Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh informed that the department is in the process of preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed hostels.
“The proposals have been sent to the Centre, and we are monitoring the sanction process,” he said, adding that the state government has been assured of receiving the necessary funding.
In addition to the hostels, the government also plans to upgrade around 100 Anganwadi Centres, with funds expected to be received soon.
