Shillong, Feb 4: The fourth day of the District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2024 saw commanding performances from Sohra Combines CC and Rangshken ACC, both securing comfortable victories at the ongoing tournament.
Sohra Combines vs Royal Rangers
Winning the toss, Sohra Combines CC opted to bat first and posted a competitive 144/3 in 16 overs. Jona anchored the innings with a steady 42 off 42 balls, while Kevinstar Khongwar was the pick of the bowlers for Royal Rangers CC, claiming 2/44 in 4 overs.
In response, Royal Rangers CC struggled against Sohra’s disciplined bowling attack, managing only 76/6 in 16 overs. Lalaplad Tariang top-scored with 17 off 16 balls, but his efforts were not enough to steer the team to victory. Donkyrmenlang Nadon was the standout performer, scoring 38 off 29 balls and taking 3/9 in 3 overs, earning him the Player of the Match award.
Result: Sohra Combines CC won by 69 runs
Rangshken vs Thynroid
In the second match of the day, Rangshken ACC won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that paid off handsomely.
Thynroid CC was bowled out for just 52 in 14.1 overs, with Sandy M Mulong top-scoring with 10 off 13 balls. Kisstar Janong was in lethal form with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of 4/5 in 4 overs.Chasing a modest target, Rangshken ACC made quick work of the total, reaching 53/2 in just 6 overs. Kyrmenskhem Nongrum led the chase with 20 off 14 balls, while Kedar War managed 1/7 in 2 overs for Thynroid. Kisstar Janong was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.
Result: Rangshken ACC won by 8 wickets
