Two children die in mudslide in WGH

TURA, Feb 8: In a tragic incident, two children were killed while another three were injured after loose soil from a construction site near the village of Nalbari under Rajabala PS limits in West Garo Hills (WGH) fell on top of them while they were playing underneath.
As per reports, the incident took place around 11 am on Saturday near the village where a private construction company was undertaking soil excavation using a JCB.
Five children namely Aladin Sarkar (10), Rofizul Mollah (7), Moksedul Sk (11), Rakibul Alom (7) and Sahil Rahman (8) went near the site to play. All of them hail from the same village.
Suddenly the soil above them collapsed and all the five children were buried inside.
Hearing the commotion, people rushed to the spot and pulled out the five children. However, two of them died before they were pulled out. The two deceased have been identified as Rakibul Alom and Sahil Rahman.
The three injured were rushed to the nearby Bhaitbari CHC for medical treatment.
