Koch warrior remembered

TURA, Feb 12: The 515th birth anniversary of Koch warrior Chilarai (Sukladhwaj Koch) was commemorated by the Meghalaya Koch Students’ Union (MKSU) at Dumnigaon in South West Garo Hills on Wednesday. The programme, attended by distinguished guests and community members, paid homage to the iconic leader renowned for his military prowess. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Jalaram Koch, Gaonbura of Dumnigaon and Kandarpa Koch, president of MKSU.
Prominent personalities, including Meghalaya Koch Association (MKA) general secretary Jayanta Koch, former general secretary Kamaleswar Koch, Anando Koch, Janardan Koch Assistant general secretary of MKA, Ashok Koch (In-charge Secretary Census & Statistics), and Nirmal Koch, president of Krorang Mathop (Koch Literature Society), were present. Vedvyas Koch, joint secretary of KKM, Nilendu Koch, vice president of MKSU, Bireshwar Koch, organising secretary of MKSU, and zonal members from Harigaon also participated.
