Meghalaya softball teams set to compete in national championship

Shillong, Feb 19: The Meghalaya Softball Association (MSA) has officially announced the men’s and women’s squads set to participate in the Senior National Softball Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Amravati, Maharashtra, from February 22 to 26.
The contingent, comprising top players from across the state, set off from Shillong for Nagpur on Wednesday, with a send-off program held at Alelang Hall, Lachaumiere.
The Men’s Team consists of Shongdor Shangpliang (EKHD), Kyntulang Phawa (EJHD), Wadphang Phawa (EJHD), Nangkiew Disiar (EKHD), Wankit Syiemlieh (EKHD), Krishna Thappa (EJHD), Shanlibor Rympeit (Ribhoi), Echwa Phawa (WJHD) as the Captain, Breinning Star Thongni (EKHD), Donaldy Kharshandy (EKHD), Deibanshan Mylliem (SWKHD), Mewan Phawa (WJHD), Shemphang War (EWKHD), and Kitboklang Nongphlang as the Team Manager.
The Women’s Team includes Luiza Tamang (EKHD), Neha Hajong (EKHD), Riticia Nongbet (EKHD) as the Captain, Jerinda Kharshandy (EKHD), Larisha Phawa (WJHD), Fatima Dkhar (WJHD), Icyful Mary Lyngkhoi (WKHD), Rita Mary Iawphniaw (WKHD), Rosa Maslai (Ribhoi), Joytiful Narlong (Ribhoi), Joyfull Shylla (EJHD), Ibajanai Wanniang (SWKHD), Kynshewlin Iawphniaw (SWKHD), with Mrs. Ibaphira Skhemlon as the Team Manager.The team underwent an intensive training camp from February 10 to 14 at Malki Ground, Shillong, under the guidance of head coach Ridahunlin Lyndem.The Meghalaya Softball Association, established in 1991, continues to play a pivotal role in promoting and nurturing softball talent in the state. With high hopes and rigorous preparation, the teams aim to make a strong impact at the national level.
