SHILLONG, Feb 20: One of the most anticipated projects under the Smart City initiative, the Shillong Business-cum-Tourism Centre, is set to be completed by December this year. The project is being constructed at the site of the former Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) building in Police Bazar.
According to sources, the project has achieved 75% physical progress, with all structural work completed. “The finishing work is currently under way,” they added.
The project is being executed by M/S Badri Rai and Company, with a tender value of Rs 211.87 crore.
The upcoming multi-complex, which will replace the old MTC office, is expected to be a game-changer for the area, offering a blend of commercial and tourism facilities.
