Boy pushed, manhandled by woman with unleashed dog
Noida, Feb 20: A woman in a Greater Noida society pushed and manhandled a young boy who pleaded with her to not bring her unleashed dog inside the lift. The pet owner was detained after a video of the terrified child in tears went viral, police said on Thursday. The incident happened on Wednesday in 12th Avenue Society in Gautam Buddha Nagar’s Gaur City 2, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shakti Mohan Awasthi said. A video of the episode is making rounds on social media. In the 49-second video, the boy, terrified by the sight of an unleashed dog, can be seen pleading with the woman to not bring her pet inside the lift. (PTI)

Cops receive threat to blow up Maharashtra Dy CM’s car
Mumbai, Feb 20: Mumbai police on Thursday received mails threatening to blow up Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s car, an official said. According to the official, mails threatening to bomb Shinde’s car were received at Goregaon and J J Marg police stations in the morning, after which a probe began in the case. The IP address of the sender is being tracked. All angles are being probed,” the official informed. A senior Mumbai police official had earlier said a threat call had been received. (PTI)

Youth, teenage girl found hanging in village
Kanpur, Feb 20: A youth and a teenage girl, reportedly in a relationship, were found hanging from the same stole in a dilapidated room at Dohroo village in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, police said on Thursday. The decomposed bodies were discovered after a foul smell emanating from the site alerted the locals in the village falling under the Sajeti area, they said. “The exact cause of their deaths is yet to be determined,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Ghatampur, Ranjeet Kumar. Son locks ailing mother at home, attends Maha Kumbh with wife, children
Ramgarh, Feb 20: A man allegedly locked his ailing mother at home in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district and went to Prayagraj for a holy dip in Maha Kumbh along with his wife, children and in-laws, police said on Thursday. The police rescued the 65-year-old mother from a quarter of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in Subhash Nagar colony under Ramgarh police station limit on Wednesday. The woman was locked in the home since Monday and survived on Chura (flattened rice). The neighbours came to know about her when she cried in hunger for help, police said. (PTI)
