BJP leader detained in connection with minor’s rape at his hotel in MP
TIKAMGARH, March 3: A BJP leader was detained on Monday in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl at his hotel.The leader allegedly harboured and provided room in his hotel to two accused who abducted and sexually assaulted the minor girl at the establishment last year, an official said.The BJP’s district unit chief, Saroj Rajput, has expelled the leader, Sanju Yadav.Yadav was taken into custody while he was heading towards his hotel this afternoon, police said.He said the police are probing into Yadav’s role in concealing the sexual assault and providing a room in his hotel to the two accused, who raped the girl there a year ago.The girl, along with her family, on Saturday lodged a complaint against the accused, Rohit Sahu and Vishal Sahu, alleging that they forcibly took her to Yadav’s hotel and raped her a year ago.The girl, in her complaint, alleged that the accused clicked obscene photos of her and were blackmailing her for money and had raped her repeatedly since then.(PTI)
Police constable arrested for colluding with drug gangs
INDORE, March 3: A police constable posted in Indore was arrested on Monday for allegedly colluding with drug peddlers in the city, a senior officer said.Constable Lakhan Gupta was arrested for allegedly colluding with drug gangs and indulging in illegal money transactions.Gupta was responsible for serving summonses and warrants to accused in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, but he used to delay the process, he said.Gupta was being monitored for a long time. Investigations found he was colluding with drug gangs in exchange for money and was not taking legal action against the members of these gangs. (PTI)
Motorcyclist charred to death after crashing into trailer
THANE, March 3: A 30-year-old man was charred to death after his motorcycle rammed into a trailer parked on the road and caught fire in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police said on Monday.The victim, Rajesh Dinesh Ram, was riding with his friend when he crashed into a trailer parked on the roadside without any indicators.The two-wheeler caught fire in the impact, charring the victim to death and injuring his friend, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
