Tura, March 6: The BJP Tura has warned residents against a scammer, identified as one Ajay Saha, who allegedly has been calling residents to scam them for money in the name of the party for providing schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and other central schemes.
Saha allegedly called many residents and collected money ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,000 with the promise that he was from the BJP and would ensure they were the beneficiaries of schemes. Transaction records of Saha receiving money for these schemes have been submitted to the police for further investigation after an FIR was filed on March 5.
The number used for such activities by Saha has been listed as 9233144235.
“We want to inform that these kinds of scammers and frauds are not part of the BJP and are only an attempt to defame the party. We will not spare anyone involved in this hideous crime where they are defrauding innocent people. Further if any individual wants to apply for these schemes can do so at the BJP office in Tura,” said general secretary, Wilver Greham M Danggo.
