SHILLONG, March 12: Citing the requirement of Aadhaar for availing benefits under various government schemes, the office of the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District has urged the public, who do not yet have an Aadhaar card, to apply for the same at their respective DC’s office, BDO’s office or at Special Camps, by bringing their EPIC (Voter ID) and birth certificate.
Those below 15 years of age will have to bring their Schedule Tribe certificate, birth certificate, or the Aadhaar card of their parents.
People who already have their Aadhaar card have been urged to complete Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of East Khasi Hills has reminded all beneficiaries under NFSA having PHH and AAY ration card in the district of the mandatory linkage of Aadhaar with ration card (PHH and AAY).
In order to avoid the risk of reduction in coverage of beneficiaries due to non-compliance, the DC has asked all NFSA beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC process through e-POS machines available in all the Fair Price Shops throughout East Khasi Hills, on or before the March 25.
