Morningstar Khongthaw gets ‘Driver of Change’ honour; the only recipient from NE

SHILLONG, March 18: Morningstar Khongthaw, the Chairman of Raid Shabong community, Pynrusla, was the only one from Northeast to be felicitated at the prestigious ‘Drivers of Change’ event, organised by India Today Group and Mahindra Automotive. The event focused on key issues such as tourism, entrepreneurship, environmental conservation, cultural heritage, and climate change.
Khongthaw, known for his dedication to preserving Meghalaya’s living root bridges, was recognised for his efforts in driving change and raising awareness about conserving this unique cultural and ecological heritage. During the event, he also explored potential collaborations with corporate entities, institutions, and NGOs to further conservation initiatives.
He was also part of a panel discussion alongside notable personalities, including Sudha Varghese (social worker), Shalini Mishra (In-charge, Dhyan Foundation, Ranchi), Nilesh Mandlewala (Founder, Donate Life), and Jaget Kinkhabwala (environmental conservationist).
