SHILLONG, March 28: Earthquakes rocked several parts of the northeast including Meghalaya on Friday, a day when a powerful earthquake rocked Myanmar and Thailand. At least 144 people were killed and 730 were injured in Myanmar.
An earthquake measuring 4.0 magnitude on the Richter scale rocked East Garo Hills at around 13:03 p.m. The depth was recorded to be 5 km, according to the National Center for Seismology. There was no report of any damage in the state. Another 4.3 tremor was felt in Kamjong, Manipur at about 1.29 p.m.
