Chennai, April 6: Former Australian cricketer and ex-Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Matthew Hayden has sparked a fresh debate over MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League, suggesting that the CSK legend should consider calling time on his career following the team’s loss to Delhi Capitals.
The remarks came during the broadcast of CSK’s home game against DC at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, where Hayden, on commentary duty, appeared critical of Dhoni’s performance with the bat.
The 43-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, who walked in at No. 7 with his side under pressure, remained unbeaten on 30 off 26 deliveries.
Despite showing glimpses of his trademark calm, Dhoni struggled to find fluency, managing just one six and a four in his innings, along with six dot balls. CSK eventually fell short in their 184-run chase. (Agencies)
