Shillong, April 10: Meghalaya’s semifinal against Manipur in the 2nd NECDC Senior Women Tournament 2025 at Rangpo, Sikkim, was washed out on Thursday, with just two balls being bowled.
The game will instead be played on the reserve day tomorrow. Meghalaya had qualified for the semis by being the top team in Group A, while Manipur were runners-up in Group B.
Meanwhile, the second semifinal was able to go ahead as planned, with hosts Sikkim beating Nagaland by 1 wicket in a close encounter. The two teams were joint champions of the maiden edition of the tournament last year as rain washed the final out completely but today Sikkim restricted Nagaland to 70 all out in 17.4 overs before requiring the full 20 overs to chase this down, with a single off the very last ball taking them to victory.
