House gutted in Rongjeng

SHILLONG, April 22: A house belonging to Presila N Marak of Morongga Nengkram, under Rongjeng Police Station in East Garo Hills district, was gutted in a fire on Tuesday.
East Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Stephen Aleric Rynjah, said that information about the incident was received at the Mangsang Outpost.
A team from the Fire and Emergency Services Station in Rongjeng was immediately dispatched to the scene and successfully doused the flames.
According to the SP, preliminary findings confirmed that no one was present in the house at the time of the fire. The cause has been traced to faulty wiring, and no foul play is suspected.
The district police chief also issued a warning that anyone found attempting to exploit the incident to disturb law and order or incite communal disharmony will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
