SAI NEHU to launch Come and Play Scheme

Shillong, April 23: Sports Authority of India NEHU Campus, Shillong will launch the Come and Play Scheme for 2025-2026 for both boys and girls with the aim to impart coaching to beginners, encourage participation in sports and for optimum utilisation of the facilities available.
It is proposed that the scheme will be launched at the centre for coaching young sports enthusiasts – aged 8 to 17 years – at nominal cost (Rs.100 per month per trainees) from May 5, 2025 in the field of Football, Athletics, Boxing, Judo and Karate.
In a release on Wednesday, SAI Sports Training Centre (STC), Shillong informed that the admission would be confirmed on first come first serve basis.
SAI STC Shillong also informed that complementary membership (without fees) will be given to international sports person, National/State medal winners, below poverty and line (BPL) trainee.
“Girls trainee, children in government school will be given membership for a concessional fee of Rs.35 per month,” the release said.
“Application Form (Specimen) is available on link (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ufEJ6dpApuygl5Od7JPTmxj6vFC1bljR/view?usp=sharing) which needs to be submitted in hard copy in the SAI STC Shillong office by April 30, 2025,” the release further mentioned.
