BJP pays tributes to Pope Francis

SHILLONG, April 24: Rich tributes were paid to Pope Francis by the Meghalaya BJP during its state-level condolence meeting here on Thursday.
The gathering, which brought together individuals from various faiths, was led by state BJP president Rikman G Momin and cabinet Minister AL Hek.
The meeting featured an interfaith prayer service, where attendees offered prayers for the repose of Pope Francis’s soul.
Participants recalled the Pope’s global legacy, highlighting his efforts toward promoting compassion, human dignity and social justice.
Later in the day, a delegation of BJP leaders, including Hek, Momin and other senior party figures, visited the Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese, Victor Lyngdoh.
The delegation conveyed their condolences and expressed solidarity with the Catholic community in Meghalaya and the global church.
