Theft
Damewan Lawai lodged a complaint that on April 25 night, unknown miscreant(s) stole five tyres along with alloy rims valued around Rs. 35,000 from his Maruti Alto car (ML-05U-8677) at Pomlahier Main Road, East Khasi Hills.
Krillin Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on April 19 at about 10.25 am, one resident of Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills, stole his mobile phone from his shop at Mawkyrwat Market.

Fraud
A male resident of a locality in South West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on February 8, 2024, he received one anonymous text message, in which the message sender instructed him to update his PAN card through a given link. Later, on clicking the link, Rs. 49,997 was debited from his bank account.

Equipment damaged
Anshit Kakkar lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of April 17 and 18, 2025, one unknown vehicle dashed against a pole at Bishop Cotton Road, Shillong, and fled away, causing damage to the pole and CCTV equipment. The total value of the damaged equipment is estimated around Rs. 98,000.

Man hacked to death
Mel Dkhar lodged a complaint that on April 17 around 10.30 pm, her son, viz. Loris Dkhar (33) attacked her husband, viz. Tngen Phawa with a machete in their residence at Mupyut village, West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to PHC Jaraiñ from where he was referred to CH Ïalong. However, on April 21, his wife and relatives took the victim to the residence of his sister at the village, where he died on April 22. Police arrested the accused.
