The 50th ‘Tirodhan Tithi’ of Swami Suryananda Maharaj will be observed at Yogamaya Ashram, Laban, on May 16. As part of the observance, yogna will be held, scriptures will be chanted, special puja and arti will be conducted, and prasadam will be distributed.
Gratitude
The Police Bazar Welfare Society has extended its gratitude for the steps taken by the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) to conduct late evening and night cleaning of the roads that are littered with plastics and other wastes. “We also thank the SMB for cleaning the garbage accumulated apposite the MUDA parking lot. The said plot was emanating stenching smell and had become a place of unhygienic nature. That place is cleared now and a beautiful look has been given to the area which has now become a place for tourist attraction,” it said.
Exemption
The Office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that the fees for Aadhaar update, including both demographic and biometric, is exempted to all the NFSA beneficiaries provided they furnish a valid NFSA ration card up to June 30, 2025.
