The Governor made the appeal while felicitating the top rankholders of the SSLC and HSSLC examinations during a ceremony at the Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
Encouraging the students to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to the nation in general and the state in particular, Governor Vijayashankar commended MBoSE for maintaining quality and fairness in examinations.
He then reiterated the importance of aligning education with NEP 2020 goals.
On the occasion, five meritorious students were felicitated by the Governor with certificates and gifts for securing first positions in their respective streams—Saptarshi Bhattacharjee (HSSLC Science), Idawanplishisha Swer (HSSLC Arts), Disha Chokoni (HSSLC Commerce), Leisha Agarwal (SSLC) and Avila Kathrene P. Lyngdoh (SSLC).

Meanwhile, MBoSE Chairman CP Marak, in his address, congratulated the students and credited their success to a collective ecosystem involving educators, institutions and families.
He iterated the Board’s commitment to innovation, transparency and reform under NEP 2020.
On the occasion, certificates and cash awards were also distributed to other meritorious students by the senior officials.
During the programme, several students shared their academic journeys and aspirations, inspiring peers and educators alike.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by MBoSE Director M. Marbaniang, who called for increased investment in teacher training, inclusive education and digital infrastructure, particularly in underserved areas.
