TURA, May 23: The Federation of Achik Freedom (FAF) has strongly objected to the education department’s proposed move to reschedule the SSLC examinations from the usual February-March window to December.
“We are of the realisation that MBoSE is under tremendous pressure to conduct the SSLC examinations in the month of December this year. This extremely short notice has placed undue burden on the staff and authorities, making it impossible to adequately prepare,” said the organisation president Brinbal Sangma.
Maintaining that preparation for such an important exam takes time and rushing the process would compromise the quality and fairness of the examination, Sangma said, “It is concerning that such a critical exam is being expedited without proper consideration for the students and educators. We strongly urge the government and MBoSE to reconsider this decision and postpone the exam. It should be conducted as per the normal schedule.”
The organisation added that they would not tolerate haphazard arrangements that jeopardise the future of the students.
