SHILLONG, June 2: The Meghalaya government has issued a warning to contractors implementing infrastructure projects in the state to adhere to the set timelines.
Cabinet Minister Marcuise Marak on Monday said contractors who delay projects will be taken to task.
He said that the same yardstick will be applicable to all contractors implementing projects in the state.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma had recently come down hard on a construction firm for abnormal delay in completing a bridge over Dama Chiring at Masa Akong (popularly known as Cinema Hall) in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills.
The chief minister had conducted a site inspection of the under-construction bridge after receiving complaints about the prolonged delay in completing the vital bridge.
