BJP announces new office-bearers for Meghalaya unit

SHILLONG, June 14: With an eye on the 2028 Assembly elections, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a new team of office-bearers, following approval by BJP national president JP Nadda.
The newly appointed team has been entrusted with strengthening the party at the grassroots level and spreading Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message to every corner of the state—Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas (Together with everyone, development for everyone, and trusted by everyone).
The new state office-bearers include six state vice presidents, namely Khrawboklang Basaiawmoit, Bernadette Lyndgdoh and Er Bipen Pradhan for Shillong, Bernard N. Marak and Anil Hajong for Tura, and Lakhon Biam for West Jaintia Hills.
Similarly, Er. Wankitbok Pohshna has been appointed as the state general secretary for Shillong, while Amitava Saha will serve as the state general secretary for West Garo Hills.
There will also be six state secretaries representing Tura, East Khasi Hills, Shillong and East Jaintia Hills. Among them are Anzie Ellicia A. Sangma, Belbora Wankhar, Daniella L. Nonglait, and others.
Sabyasachi Ghose has been appointed as the media convener and Mariahom Kharkrang will serve as the chief spokesperson. On the other hand, Sarad Bawri will take charge as the IT convener, while Fredee Aaron Kahit will be the social media convener.
