Three KV Umroi students enter ISRO’s young scientist prog

SHILLONG, June 15: Three students from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt have made their school proud by being selected for the prestigious ISRO Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA) 2025. Prerna Pathak, Aditya Chaudhary, and Hemanshu Chourasia were among the 350 students chosen from nearly 98,000 applicants across India for this unique initiative.
The two-week residential programme was held at NE-SAC Shillong from May 19 to 30, where the students participated in various activities, including drone robotics, 3D and VR practicals, model rocket making, and telescope integration. They also witnessed the live launch of the Rohini-200 sounding rocket, attended self-defense workshops, and interacted with Indian astronaut Angad Prathap. Additionally, they went on educational visits to the Science Centre & Planetarium in Guwahati, Eastern Air Command, and Don Bosco Museum in Shillong.
The entire school community has congratulated Prerna, Aditya, and Hemanshu.
