Dumping ban
The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills has promulgated an order under Section 163 BNSS prohibiting dumping of soil and debris, throwing of garbage all along the highway from Rilbong junction towards Upper Shillong and the National Highway of Shillong-Guwahati. This comes in view of reported unauthorised haphazard dumping of soil, debris and household waste at Umshyrpi (Rilbong point) towards Upper Shillong and Guwahati Road within East Khasi Hills. Such activities, if allowed to continue, will lead to health hazard and also hamper the execution of work carried out by the NHIDCL.
