SHILLONG, July 1: The Tourism department has mandated an online data collection process for all accommodation providers in Meghalaya, including hotels, guesthouses, homestays, bed and breakfast establishments, lodges and inns.
In a statement, the Director of Tourism informed that this process will facilitate daily check-in and check-out data recording, including visitor numbers, gender, state or country of origin, and the upload of identity proof, visa and C-form details.
Citing security concerns, the department has also directed all accommodation providers to obtain a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the district administration and district police before registering or continuing operations.
Further, all accommodation providers in the state have been advised to register and comply with these regulations immediately.
