SHILLONG, July 4: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) concluded a transformative four-day workshop at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), New Shillong, empowering 119 empanelled Local Training Providers (LTPs) from 86 training institutes to drive the state’s restructured skilling agenda.
The valedictory session was attended by Principal Secretary, Labour, Employment & Skill Development Department, Challienkhum Songate, and MSSDS Executive Director Jagdish Chelani.
Addressing the gathering, Songate lauded the LTPs as “change makers of society”, whilst urging them to align training programmes with Meghalaya’s economic goals for 2025-26.
As part of the concluding ceremony, certificates of empanelment and MoUs were awarded to 17 LTPs, while 65 received official work orders under the restructured Chief Minister’s Skills Mission.
It may be mentioned that the initiative aims to skill over 23,000 candidates across sectors such as Agriculture, Tourism, Apparel and Construction.
