Bikes stolen
Md. Moinuddin lodged a complaint that on the night of July 2, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05M-4843) from Mathura compound, Jhalupara, Shillong.
Jensing Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on July 2, between 10.15 am and 2 pm, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-08F-0813) from Tura Civil Hospital compound in West Garo Hills.

Four detained over assault
On July 2 evening, miscreant(s) assaulted one Sreechoran Rabha at his residence in Bamundanga village under Bhogularbhita OP, West Garo Hills. In this connection, police have detained four individuals.

Threatened on stolen phone
A resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on July 2 circa 2 pm, miscreant(s) stole his mobile phone at Iewduh, Shillong. Later, when the complainant made a call to his mobile, an unknown person received the phone, threatened his daughter and also demanded Rs 10,000.

Fake OBC applications
Dalinkynti Kharshiing, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner’s office, Shillong, lodged a complaint that OBC forms submitted by five individuals viz., Jayprakash Yadav, Sandeep Yadav, Vinay Yadav, Ajay Yadav and Sateesh Yadav, were found to be fake.

Man flees after taking loan
Branch Head and Manager of UCO Bank, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills, lodged a complaint that on June 27, 2025, one Ram Chandra Sah, borrowed Rs 12.59 lakh from the bank and departed for his home state, Bihar.

Fund misappropriation
Oinam Nishita lodged a complaint on July 3that during internal verification and preliminary enquiry, Rs 7.45 lakh belonging to the Department of Post, which was under the custody of one Koppula Bhanu Prakash, GDS, Branch Postmaster (BPM) at Kynrut Incl. Laitbyrsu Branch Post Office, Eastern West Khasi Hills, was found missing and is suspected to have been misappropriated by Koppula Bhanu Prakash.

Caught stealing
Dr SW Momin lodged a complaint that on July 3, around 3.15 am, residents of Mission Compound, Tura, West Garo Hills, caught red-handed one Dhiru M Sangma (60), while he was attempting to steal a battery from a vehicle (ML-01A-0060).

Break-in
Sayed Hussain verbally reported at Hallidayganj PS in West Garo Hills that on the night of July 2, unknown miscreant(s) broke into his shop at Panbari, Bollongre, West Garo Hills, and stole bathroom fittings, tiles, sinks, etc., from the shop’s godown.
