SHILLONG, July 7: Cabinet Minister and UDP leader, Kyrmen Shylla on Monday made it clear that he would not hesitate to step down if the party wants him to vacate his cabinet seat for another party MLA.
He, however, denied any discussions about a possible reshuffle in the Cabinet berth reserved for the UDP.
Shylla stated that any decision about reshuffling of the UDP berths will be taken in consultation with the 12 MLAs and other party workers.
He also stated that there are no rifts within the party over the Cabinet berth and that no one has approached the party highlighting any grievances.
The MDA Government, comprising NPP, UDP, BJP, and HSPDP, is soon to complete its two and a half-year in office, leading to speculations about a possible reshuffle.
The top leadership of the NPP, which enjoys an absolute majority in the MDA Government, has remained silent on the issue.
