Public advised against travel on Shillong-Dawki road amid rains

SHILLONG, July 9: The Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Pynursla, has advised the public and commuters to avoid unnecessary travel on the Shillong-Dawki road, particularly the stretch from Laitlyngkot to Lyngkyrdem (Chainage kms 24+00-37+00), due to the risk of landslides amid incessant rainfall.
The advisory, which was issued on Wednesday, noted that the entire Shillong-Dawki road remains vulnerable in view of the downpour.
