DSEL Secy bats for expansion of NERIE infra

SHILLONG, July 14: The Secretary of Department of School Education & Literacy, Sanjay Kumar, has appealed to the Meghalaya government to provide land for the expansion of the infrastructure of North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), Shillong.
Kumar, who, along with NCERT Director Prof Dinesh Prasad Saklani, visited the NERIE Shillong campus on Monday, stated that in order to meet the objectives of NEP 2020, it is essential to enhance the institutional capacity for preparing a larger number of professionally trained teachers in the region. Prof Saklani also echoed the views of the DSEL Secretary for infrastructure expansion.
Secretary of state’s Education department, Swapnil Tambe shared the Meghalaya government’s proposed initiatives, including the rationalisation of schools to improve the quality of education.
