4 including truck driver arrested for raping girl
MALKANGIRI, (Odisha) July 22: Four persons, including a truck driver, were arrested for allegedly raping a girl in Odisha’s Malkangiri district, police said on Tuesday.Though initially it was suspected that the minor was raped alone by the truck driver, subsequent investigations revealed that the girl had been sexually assaulted by three other men also, police said. The girl had gone to her friend’s house on Sunday night but did not return home, following which her family lodged a missing person’s complaint. the girl was spotted on Monday night along with a truck driver, in a suspicious condition by locals who informed the police. Police immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the girl and arrested the truck driver. (PTI)
Grounded British fighter jet flies back
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, July 22: The British F-35B fighter jet flew back on Tuesday after completing maintenance, more than a month after it made an emergency landing at the international airport here, and remained parked since then.The jet, which took off at 10.50 am, flew to Darwin in Australia, airport sources said.“A UK F-35B aircraft, which landed following an emergency diversion on June 14, departed today from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. A UK engineering team, deployed since July 06 completed the repairs and safety checks, allowing the aircraft to resume active service,” a British High Commission spokesperson said.In a statement, the spokesperson said the UK remains very grateful for the support and collaboration of the Indian authorities and airport teams throughout the repair and recovery process. Woman shot dead in Patna
PATNA, July 22: A woman was allegedly shot dead in Patna’s Janipur area, police said on Tuesday.The woman, identified as Shobha Devi, was killed by one of her relatives over some personal disputes, they said.Police received the information that a woman was allegedly shot dead by one of his relatives inside her house. Police reached the spot and recovered the body of the woman, which had bullet wounds, and sent it for post-mortem examination,” police said.Preliminary investigations suggest some personal dispute might be the reason for the murder. Delivery agent caught urinating in lift of building
PALGHAR, July 22: A food delivery agent was caught urinating inside the lift of a building in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, following which residents allegedly beat him up and handed him over to police, officials said.The delivery agent’s act was captured on a CCTV camera installed inside the elevator of the building, they said.A clip of the incident went viral on social media after being shared by some residents and drew widespread condemnation.Earlier on Monday, some residents were alarmed with a stench in the lift.When they checked the CCTV footage, they found a person, wearing the uniform of a food delivery company, looking around briefly and urinating in a corner of the lift.
