SHILLONG, July 30: The Meghalaya government has announced specific timelines for processing new electricity connection applications.
According to a notification in this regard, in urban areas where no additional infrastructure is required, the maximum time for granting a new connection from the date of application submission is seven days. In rural areas under similar conditions, the timeframe is 30 days.
However, in areas where infrastructure is required, the government has set a maximum period of 90 days from the date of submission of the application for providing a new electricity connection.
