In a partial amendment to the earlier notification issued on June 26, Commissioner and Secretary in-charge of the Urban Affairs department, Vijay Kumar, stated that the revised rates will come into effect from August 18.
According to the new structure, in high-demand zones, the parking fee for two-wheelers will be Rs 20 for the first hour and Rs 10 for each subsequent hour. For four-wheelers, the fee will be Rs 40 for the first hour and Rs 20 for every additional hour.
In low-demand zones, the rates will be lower: Rs 10 per hour for two-wheelers and Rs 5 for each following hour, while four-wheelers will be charged Rs 20 for the first hour and Rs 10 for every additional hour. The revised parking fees will be applicable from 8 AM to 9 PM, Monday to Saturday.
However, Kumar added that the charges may be waived during public or community events subject to consultation with the Zonal Task Force and local Dorbar Shnongs.
