SHILLONG, Aug 2: The proposed four-lane road from Rilbong to Upper Shillong, which is part of the Shillong-Dawki Road project, is set to be completed by December this year, but the present road condition is posing significant challenge to daily commuters due to broken roads and potholes.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong stated that the implementing agency has promised to complete package 1 from Rilbong to Baniun in Upper Shillong by December-end, provided there are no more hurdles except the ongoing monsoon season. Contractors are also facing challenges due to the downpour, he said.
Tynsong also announced that package 2, 4, and 5 of the Shillong-Dawki Road project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
