Rs 10 lakh lost in job fraud
A male resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint on July 28 that he received an anonymous message on WhatsApp regarding an online job, and was asked to deposit Rs 10 lakh in an online portal ‘https:// www.mynbccportal.com’, to which he complied. Later, the complainant realised that he has been cheated.

Hawker breaks into shop
Tansuk Toi lodged a complaint that on June 27, a female hawker broke open the lock of his shop at Ïewduh, Shillong, and stole away the same.

Threat over call
A male resident of a locality in East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on July 27, around 11.50 pm, he received an anonymous phone call, wherein the caller threatened him and his family members with dire consequences.

Contraband seized
On July 28, around 1 am, police intercepted a truck (AS-01KC-2597) driven by Deibormi Phawa (31) along with two occupants — Ri-o Mukhim (30) and Marsooki Chyrmang (29) — at Lumshnong, NH-6, East Jaintia Hills, and also recovered fourteen strips of Nitrazepam tablets, two mobile phones, etc., from their possession. Police seized the aforementioned truck and investigation is on.

Plantation damaged
Rainbow Kharpran and two others of Nohron village in East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on July 24, miscreant(s) damaged their betel leaf plantations at the village.

Break-in
Raju Das lodged a complaint that on June 27, around 3.15 pm, miscreant(s) broke into his residence at Laitumkhrah, Lumsohra, Shillong, and stole gold ornaments valued around Rs 30,000 and Rs 6,000 in cash.

Theft
The Sub Divisional Officer, PHE Spl. Inv. Sub-Division Phulbari, West Garo Hills, lodged a complaint that on the night of June 26, miscreant(s) stole 35 numbers of solar panels total valued around Rs 6.65 lakh from Romegre under-construction Water Supply Scheme at Tomagre village in the district.
Zeshak D Shira, Business Planner SOSTA (FOCUS), Betasing C&RD Block, South West Garo Hills, lodged a complaint that on July 27, miscreant(s) stole an inverter and a battery from FOCUS EFC office at Betasing.
