SHILLONG, Aug 4: Education Minister and NPP leader Rakkam A. Sangma on Monday expressed his willingness to become the “chowkidar” of the party’s office if the party and the chief minister want it, while adding that it is the chief minister’s prerogative to take a call on reshuffling the cabinet.
He was reacting to speculations about a possible cabinet reshuffling within this month as the MDA 2.0 Government is nearing two-and-half years in office.
Reacting to another query on lone Congress MLA Ronnie V. Lyngdoh’s entry into the NPP, Sangma defended the party’s ability to inspire people and said that no force can stop players from changing sides. He also mentioned the idea of an Opposition-less Assembly in Meghalaya, stating that it is up to the Opposition MLAs to take a call.
