EJH DC’s nod must for new work in 4-lane corridor areas

SHILLONG, Aug 5: As the NHIDCL looks to acquire land for the proposed four-lane high-speed corridor passing through several villages in East Jaintia Hills, the district administration has cautioned that any new construction or development activity within the designated areas of the proposed four-lane greenfield alignment must obtain prior permission from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.The villages in question are Tuber Shohshrieh, Tuber Kmai Shnong, Pynurkba, Bataw, Hingaria, Huroi, Wapung Shnong, Lakadong Umlatdoh, Lahalein, Wapung Skur, Lakadong Ummat, Lejri, Lad Rymbai Datsimpein, Lama, Borsara, Mookhep, Borghat, Kuliang, Lad Rymbai B, Natbor, Umkiang, Dkhiah West, Dein Satlang, Lum Phyllut, Dkhiah East, Kwator, Dona Skur, Khliehriat East, Demlakang, Dona Umbluh, Rymbai, Ladwahwapung, Ratacherra and Umsatai.
“Any unauthorised structures — whether temporary or permanent — erected within the proposed Right of Way after the issuance of this notice will not be considered eligible for any form of compensation at the time of land acquisition or project implementation. This applies to both private and commercial structures. This order shall come into immediate effect from the date of publication,” the DC said in a statement issued here.
