SHILLONG, Aug 5: Cabinet Minister AL Hek, who is a senior leader of the BJP, which is an ally in the MDA coalition, has advocated for government intervention in the GHADC’s ongoing salary crisis.
Terming it an injustice, Hek rued how the Council employees were not paid for 42 months.
“We don’t know how they are surviving. If someone is working in my organisation and I still hold their salary, it is injustice,” Hek said.
Asked if Administrator’s Rule should be imposed in the GHADC under the prevailing conditions, the BJP MLA said that the government should examine the matter and take the best decision in the interest of the employees.
It may be mentioned that different political parties have already apprised the Governor about the matter while some even call for Administrators Rule in the district council.
