BJP constitutes State Election Committee for 2025-2028

SHILLONG, Aug 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Meghalaya Pradesh, has announced the formation of its State Election Committee for 2025-2028, following approval from the party’s national president, JP Nadda.
According to a notification issued by the BJP State Office, state president Rikman G. Momin will head the committee. Senior party leaders, current and former office-bearers and representatives from various party wings have been named as members.
The committee comprises prominent leaders, including MLA AL Hek, former BJP state president Ernest Mawrie, state general secretary Wankitbok Pohshna, Khrawboklang Bassiawmoit, Lakhon Biam, and Bipen Pradhan, all serving as state vice presidents, and Sukhi Pariat and Commanderful Sana, both holding the position of state secretaries.
Similarly, state president of the Minority Morcha Gagann Jain has been included as an ex-officio member, while Arena Hynniewta, state president of the Mahila Morcha, has been listed as a special invitee.
The committee also features key national leaders involved in Northeast affairs—Dr. Sambit Patra, North East Coordinator and Member of Parliament; V. Muraleedharan, North East Joint Coordinator; and Anil K. Antony, State Prabhari and National Secretary.
Meanwhile, the party has stated that the formation of the committee is in line with its organisational planning ahead of future elections and reflects a broad representation of leadership from across Meghalaya.
