SHILLONG, Aug 6: Governor CH Vijayashankar on Wednesday interacted with and felicitated NCC cadets from the North Eastern Region (NER) who represented Meghalaya at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.
Congratulating the cadets for their exemplary performance and discipline, the Governor lauded their hard work, commitment, and the pride they have brought to the state through their participation in the prestigious national event.
He encouraged them to continue upholding the core values of the NCC — service, leadership, and patriotism — and to inspire other youth in the state to follow the path of honour and glory.
During the interaction, Governor Vijayashankar made a special mention of Miss Rifiness Warjri, the youngest person from Meghalaya to summit Mount Everest. He praised her outstanding achievement and urged the cadets to draw inspiration from such shining examples of dedication and excellence.
The Governor also underscored the vital role of youth in nation-building, calling upon the cadets to be responsible citizens dedicated to the unity and progress of the country.
The interaction concluded on an inspiring note, with the Governor felicitating the young cadets and expressing confidence that they would carry forward the discipline, courage, and patriotic spirit imbibed during their NCC training into every aspect of their lives.
He urged them to be torchbearers of Meghalaya’s rich cultural and moral values and to contribute meaningfully to the progress of both the state and the nation.
