All Meghalaya Dancers Association has expressed grief over the passing of former Governor of Meghalaya, Satya Pal Malik. In a condolence message, the association remembered him as a warm and gracious individual who enthusiastically supported their charity programmes for the differently-abled. “His bold leadership and clarity of thought will always be cherished. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and pray for his soul’s eternal peace,” it said.

Tribute
Admirers of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore from Shillong will pay tribute to him at Brookside, Rilbong, Shillong, at 3:30 pm on Friday to commemorate his 84th death anniversary. Tagore set his first foot at Brookside, Shillong, on October 11, 1919, during his first visit to Shillong. The programme will be organised by Malabika Bisharad. Director of Arts and Culture department has consented to grace the programme.

Revealing that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are staying away from their official duties in their parent department on the pretext of carrying out BLO duties, the District Election Officer of East Khasi Hills has directed the BLOs appointed by the respective Electoral Registration Officers to report to their respective offices, except, when assigned duty by the Electoral Registration Officer with intimation to the Controlling Officer.
