SHILLONG, Aug 8: A fire broke out at Meghalaya Mistan Bhandar, a popular food joint in Polo, on Friday evening, partially gutting the establishment.
According to staff present at the scene, the blaze erupted suddenly and rapidly engulfed the kitchen area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Several fire tenders were dispatched to the spot and managed to bring the flames under control before they could spread further. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed investigation into the incident.
